So let’s get started…
Here’s the 6 Step Formula in a nutshell:
- Be Genuinely Interested In Adding Value
- Research your subject/topic well
- Shut off all distractions before you begin to write
- Bulletize the main points you are going to cover
- Expand and add juicy details to each of your points
- Review and revise
Now let us see each one in detail…
- Be Genuinely Interested In Adding Value: The very 1st thing you must keep in mind before writing a blog post, making a video or just creating content in general is that you must be very clear on the outcome or the effect of your message. You see, it’s not what you write but how you write it that makes all the difference!You must truly desire and wish that every single person who comes on your blog get something of great value from the stuff you write. Don’t write if you are not feeling like writing. Take a break. It’s important that you focus on the quality of your content more than the quantity of it.
- Research your subject/topic well: It’s very important that you know and research your subject well before you write a blog post. If you have some great novel ideas, make a note of them. Then once you have dumped your ideas on paper, you have freed your mental ram to get more information that you would probably miss out on! Read what other popular blogs in your niche have written on the topic you are writing. Read magazine, newspapers, research on the topic online, make notes and add important points you think you must include by making a note of them.
- Shut off all distractions before you begin to write: The next step is to shut of all and any kind off distraction you might be tempted with before you begin to write the blog post. - Bulletize the main points you are going to cover: The next thing to do is to get a basic overview of all the notes you have made while researching on the topic, Then make points and bulletize important points so that they follow a logical order and sequence and make sense. The flow must be logical, clear and easy to understand and make sense.
- Expand and add juicy details to each of your points: Once you have a skeleton or structure to expand upon, you then take up each of those points and expand upon them. It’s at this stage that you will add meaty and juicy details to your content.
- Review and revise: Finally once you are completely done writing, take a break for 5 minutes. Then come back and re-read everything you have written. Review it, make improvements, corrections and amends to your write up. You will be surprised at how many times you will revise and review your write up! Believe me, this final step is extremely critical to your blogging success!
